Fairplan

Fairplan is a flexible web-based work planning tool which is easy to use and targeted towards the individual employee.
What makes Fairplan unique is that employees have great influence on which shifts the want to take and when they wish to be off duty. Fairplan guarantees a fair distribution of both popular and less attractive shifts via a priority principle by which the employees take turns to have the good priorities.
Fairplan can be deployed in a long range of companies, institutions and associations; everything from shops to larger emergency management agencies or hospitals.
Benefits of Fairplan
- Satisfied employees, as they are able to plan their work to fit their leisure time, instead of the other way around.
- Quick overview for both management and employees - even well into the future.
- Unfilled shifts are automatically assigned according to the priorities of the employees, so that the minimum requirements are always met.
- When a plan has been locked, the employees are free to swap shifts amongst each other without involving management or HR personnel.
- Special shift layouts can be used in select periods such as duration vacations.
- Vacation, sick leaves and other special circumstances can be handled.
- The labor laws and recommendations of the specific organization are automatically enforced.
- Reduced administration costs, as the system is full-automatic.
- Employees can hold time-limited qualifications, allowing them to be qualified or disqualified for certain shifts.
- Different departments may provide resources to each other when needed.
- Fairplan is web-based and is thus accessed via an internet browser. This provides a number of advantages:
- The system is centrally serviced and maintained.
- Client workstations need nothing more than a web browser.
- Accessible by employees from home via the internet, if desired.
- The user interface is available in English and Danish, and can be translated into other languages on demand.
Fairness for everyone
- Every week the employees take turns in having the good priorities and thus the greater freedom to choose as they like.
- In the event that too many employees sign up for a particular shift, the ones holding the best priorities will be granted it.
- In the event that too few employees sign up for an unpopular shift, the ones with the worst priorities will be assigned to the remaining slots.
- Should the need arise to call in additional staff with short notice, HR personnel can see a list of all available employees sorted by priority and compliance with the labor laws.
- Both the first-come-first-served principle and suspicion about preferential treatment is eliminated, as all decisions are based on the priority system.
